It is the goal of Southern Ontario Disc Houndz to promote the sport of canine disc through the hosting of disc competitions, workshops, and play dates, while always keeping the safety and enjoyment of both canine and handler in focus. SODH promotes sportsmanship and camaraderie between players, and welcomes players of all skill levels. SODH respects the individual goals of its members, whether you are playing for fun or for competition, and has an appreciation for all dogs taking part in the sport of canine disc.

About The Founder of Southern Ontario Disc Houndz
Jackie Parkin has been promoting the sport of canine disc in Ontario for the past 7yrs through the hosting of Skyhoundz Local disc dog trials. Jackie is a three time World Finalist with her dogs Maeve, Rowdy, and Josie. (Maeve 2004/2005 Sport Division; Rowdy 2005/2006 MicroDog Division; Josie 2006 MicroDog Division) She is also the recipient of the 2006 Peter Rice Bloeme Rising Star award, for her contribution to the growth of canine disc sport in Canada, and is a member of the Steering Committee for the USDDN (U.S. Disc Dog Nationals).

What Does Your Membership Money Do For You?
Your membership dollars go towards expenses incurred in the running of Skyhoundz Local disc dog competitions, thus enabling SODH to continue to offer you these FREE competitions; and the hosting of SODH trials; and of course the Skyhoundz Qualifier. Each year SODH hosts local Skyhoundz competitions , the Ontario Regional Skyhoundz Worlds Qualifier, the Canadian National Disc Dog Championships, workshops, and SODH club competitions. Membership dollars go towards the running of these events and SODH affording to buy ribbons/awards for SODH club disc dog events.

What Are The Benefits Of Being A Member
1) SODH will be able to continue to offer you disc dog events in which to compete with your dog
2) Reduced entry fees at SODH club disc dog competitions and Dog Disc-a-thons
3) Reduced attendance fees at any competitions/seminars/workshops or classes hosted by SODH
4) Discounted prices on discs and disc related items being sold by SODH

5) Eligability to campaign for the Club Cup

6) Eligability to earn SODH Yearly Achievement Awards
